QuickBooks
Premier is suitable for any business with up to five users. If you need
more than five simultaneous users you need to use QuickBooks Enterprise. If you purchase this version you will be asked
to select an "industry" when you install, such as Manufacturing and
Wholesale, Retail, Nonprofit and more. Note that
you can change the edition you have selected
at any time. This is the product I recommend the most often.
QuickBooks
Pro is a lower cost version, similar to Premier, but it doesn't include
all of the features. It does not include
specialty industry reports, sales orders, inventory assembly items, and
other features. I generally don't recommend this for most businesses,
but if money is tight you can start with this. You can easily
transfer your company data up to Premier or Enterprise if you wish.
QuickBooks
Enterprise is more expensive and you won't get a discount online.
Consider this if you need more than five simultaneous users. You can
convert Pro and Premier data to this version, but it is very difficult
to downgrade data from Enterprise back to Premier or Pro. There are a
number of enhancements in Enterprise that may be useful to some
businesses.
