These options should only be selected at the direction of the CCRSoftware technical support staff. You can’t hurt anything, BUT if these are enabled the program will perform much slower and could display a number of annoying messages.
• Save Support Files: The program has a number of support files that it manages – preference settings, form templates, error logs and more. These are stored in a variety of locations, some of which may be hidden to you. This option will copy all of these files into one folder in your My Documents folder so that you can email them to our support staff, if necessary.
• XML Display: Don’t choose this unless you really want to be annoyed. This will open a window with information about the conversation between this program and QuickBooks. It is used primarily to diagnose problems that may be occurring. It slows things down immensely.
• Logging: This program maintains a log of activity. Usually it will only record significant major error information. You can set this to record a greater degree of information. Usually this is only done if we need to see more detail about what is going on in your system. Avoid changing this, as it can slow down your program.
• View Log: This will open a window that will display your log.
• Clear Log: DON’T USE THIS unless told to – it will erase your log.
• Reset Common Location: When you first installed this program you were asked for a “common location”. Sometimes people make a bad choice. If you select this you will be asked for that location again. Generally it is a bad idea to use this unless we tell you to.
• Clear All Saved Grid Layouts: If you use the Layout feature to save your settings for a window or grid, this information is stored in a preference setting. Selecting the Clear option will erase all of these preference settings. Usually you will only do this if we tell you to – if a number of windows or grids have been changed in a new release you may need to use this option to see some of the new features.
