In QuickBooks you can define a build point for an Inventory Assembly item. This is essentially a minimum stocking level for the item, and if your quantity on hand falls below this point you should build more to keep you stock to this level.
Unlike the Reorder Point for an Inventory Part item, QuickBooks does not flag these items in the stock reports if the quantity on hand falls below the build point. It is not clear why they ignore this.
Our CCRQBOM product treats the build point in the same manner as the reorder point.
